Does this cleaner have a lubricant? For motion pictures that is probably more important than the cleaner itself.
I clean my films on my editor/viewer all the time. It's OK although doing it on a set of rewinds would probably be less awkward. The viewer does get in the way.
I use Neumade Xekote II and I bought it at Chambless:

It says "cleans and lubricates" on the bottle..although who knows? Is the Tshirt ok for a wipe, or will that scratch it?

Went to the local camera store today, inquired about film cleaners...they had a brand called "Edwal Anti-Stat Film Cleaner"...it says it is for acetate and polyester based film...and it mentions about being careful around splices...this is all they had...think it would be ok to use? I asked about cleaning pads, and the guy said to just use a clean, soft cotton t-shirt, and that would be fine...is that ok? Also, I don't have a set of rewinds to use...can i string it up on a super 8 editor I have and use that to wind it?

I use this Flannel cloth myself to clean film and it has never scratched. The seller does not have any for auction at the moment but if you email him I am sure he has some to sell.
